BLOOD DONOR DIVERSITY TOOLKIT
This toolkit is for spreading awareness about the special need for blood donations from people with African, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian ancestry. It offers a variety of unbranded products in multiple formats that are free to use or adapt. Suggestions for use are included with descriptions.
The toolkit is produced by the Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is part of an effort to reduce transfusion complications for people with sickle cell disease and thalassemia. Content is developed by experts in clinical hematology and transfusion, health communications and public health, and members of the sickle cell and thalassemia communities. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact us at blooddisorders@gsu.edu.
Materials address either sickle cell disease and its associated ancestries, thalassemia and its associated ancestries, or both conditions and combined ancestries.
